This is a very big case that looks REMARKABLY like a 1970s Celestron C90 hard vinyl case.

Like that case it is constructed of plywood and then wrapped in a thick skin of stitched vinyl. The handle on this case is fancier; made of saddle-grade leather. The latches, hinges, and handle hardware are a mix of chrome-plated steel and brass. It is all very well constructed and though I cannot remark what company built this case, I would find it hard to believe it was a homemade job. It is all very nice.

When I got this case many years back, the previous owner said she had received it from her uncle and that was well over 20 years previous. So this case, at least in my dealings with it, can be dated to the late '70s.

It is large enough to hold several C90s, probably at least (3) ETX-90ECs, easily will hold an EM-200 or smaller equatorial head, ect. There is a lot of volume. If you look at the last photos, it shows a C90 (not part of this auction) in comparison to the size.

Exact inside dimensions in inches without foam:  17.90 L x 14.28 W x 10.98 H

Weight:  8 pounds 5 ounces

Cosmetics are great, but not excellent. There are abrasions and stains, some rub areas and a few small areas where the vinyl is coming off. No splits or breaks in the case. The seams are true as are the hinges. Everything lines-up and seals shut perfectly. NO RUST on the hardware.
Inside foam walls are perfect. The upper foam on the ceiling of the lid is excellent. The base foam is okay, but as you can see, has worn to the point wood is visible. No moldy smells.
