This softbound book by Chet Raymo needs VERY little introduction from most of us star gazers who got into astronomy from the 1980s to very early 2000s. It is pretty much a benchmark book for astronomy, like Turn Left At Orion, Nightwatch and The Backyard Astronomer.
The difference between this book and those others I mentioned, however, is it invites the reader to keep a schedule over learning something new (and applying that new knowledge) every 24 hours. There are 365 things to learn about the sky overhead at night, be it the history of that constellation, its stars, or things to see and why they are important. And even more interestingly, those nights listed in the pages will involve the objects that would be outside on that night. So really nifty in the least!
LOTS of handrawn illustrations make this a easy-flowing book to read by all ages. Print-and-design format, at least to me, does not come across as crowded/overly busy.
Cosmetics are excellent for its age as a whole, though this book is not mint by a longshot. Front cover is vibrant clean. The rear cover has a lengthwise fold, though this fold is not part of the book itself, just that one, outer cover page. Spine is perfect.
All 225 pages are intact and easily legible. Outer pages are in great condition with some folds (rearmost pages) and both pages coming from the outside have minor age stains on them; more like pigmenting rather than actual spills, ect. 80% of all pages are in very excellent-to-mint condition as you head further from the outer layers.
No note taking, tape, highlighting, or rips.
All nations welcome to bid. Photos to arrive soon.
