This nifty softbound book has been hard to find, though for the time it took me to locate a copy, I now have the information from it I need and am ready to pass it on to the next owner. It is unusual in that it is a collective of several contributors and is not written or edited by one individual.
Printed and released in 1988, this 81-pager deals with the blue prints of several different types (and themes) of private observatories constructed across the country and then published by Telescope Making. Some are domes, some roll-off sheds, they have a highly unique geodesic shelter, and some are specifically trained to a tight budged (though the price figures given are definitely off-kilter to today's construction prices).
In this book there are 17 designs discussed. Each will talk about the layout, construction method, the type (and size) of telescope it serves, and in some cases, if it will be to accommodate a sole observer or several in the club. Some of these observatories can be done in almost a day; others, especially dealing with concrete, can take weeks or more.
At the end of each written process you will find that maker's name and address at the time; proof of their contribution.
Lots of architecture knowledge, measurements, supply lists, and visuals to be had in these pages. And surely you may find that one design that perfectly suits your permanent observing needs.
Cosmetics are excellent on all of the outside covers. Some crease points on the dual staple spine, but nothing bad. The spine itself is perfect and no pages are coming loose. All pages are very excellent-to-crisp mint in condition. No mold, folds, rips, missing pages, bad stains, or note taking.
All nations welcome to bid.
