Rare TEC 6" F12 Maksutov-Cassegrain, early model with quartz optics. Superb optics, hand figured by master opticians with very smooth wavefront. Great for high power lunar/planetary and double-star observing. Can be used with 2" wide field oculars for deep-sky viewing. Multi-coated optics insure high- contrast images. Internal baffles prevent stray light from nearby bright object from reaching the focus point. Internal mixing fan behind the mirror allows fast cool-down of the primary mirror. Images are sharp and contrasty within minutes even on cool nights. Focus is achieved with a special ruby-tipped micrometer on a center-point sliding mirror tube. Imperceptible image shift even at very high powers.

This scope is the ultimate grab&go whether used with a simple alt-az or a small equatorial mount. Scope can be packed into an airline overhead roller bag for air travel.

This scope is collimated and in excellent condition.
