This is a very rare 80mm/1200mm Mizar Kaiser refractor with the even more rare MMD III Mizar clock drive. This telescope is in very nice condition (8.5 our of 10) and in many ways looks brand new. It has some scrapes on the main tube and the 40mm/ 300mm finder has some scrapes to the metal where the retainer screws contact it. Also there are some paint chips on the counterweights and mount. The box is original, but the latches do not work and there is left over adhesive on the box from when it was shipped to me. In the spirit of Astromart I am being nitpicky. The overall appearance is very nice. The "steering wheel" focuser is a delight to use.
The objective is air spaced and has some dust on it, but no scratches, chips or fungus. The telescope comes with all the accessories it should have:.95" star diagonal, herschel wedge,Mizar K20mm, HM 20mm, HM 12.5mm, HM 9mm and HM 6mm eyepieces. It even has a camera adaptor that attaches to the counterweight shaft.
My guess is that this is the only 80mm/1200mm complete Mizar Kaiser with MMD III clock drive in the United States. I will deduct $100 from final auction price for local pick up.
