I’m selling my astro gear prior to heading overseas. What doesn’t sell will be stored or donated…
I have a Zeiss XXL binoviewer that Denis Levatic overhauledin October 2020. He sent a bit of documention with the Zeiss, and indicated that it is the only XXL Zeiss binoviewer he’s ever re-worked. The visible optical surfaces are pristine in terms of cleanliness and condition. The body has a very small amount of wear to the paint along some if the body frame corners; otherwise it is in excellent condition.
The paperwork supplied by Denis is shown in one of the photos and a separate Collimation and Cleaning page is included, signed by Denis.
The basic info is as follows:
Prism diameter – 26.2mm
Effective Clear aperture – 25mm
IPD – 55 to 94mm
Light Path – 14.9cm with Baader ep holders as installed
Weight – 1,300 grams (2.86 lbs)
The XXL is equipped with Baader 2456313A Heavy Duty Quick Changer, a Baader T2-1.25” nosepiece, and 2 Baader 2458125 T2-1.25” EP Holders with precision adjustable diopters.
Whether you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind item, or a fine Zeiss binoviewer for a larger setup that can handle the mass and 14.9cm light-path, this Zeiss XXL by Denis Levatic is a nice piece of work. I used it on a TSA-120, TOA-150, and APM-152/1200; and enjoyed wonderful views with both Zeiss ep’s, and a variety of TeleVue pairs.
Asking $899 via Paypal Goods; I’ll cover shipping, insurance, and fees, within CONUS. If you’re ok with the F&F mode, make it $850. Local L.A. area buyers willing to come to Santa Clarita with cash can go with $800. Int’l buyers are welcome, with the buyer covering additional shipping and Paypal fees, in excess of CONUS amounts.
I will be making a move to England in December, and possibly into the vicinity of Romania/Ukraine in January/February. European buyers willing to wait until I am in the area can expect lower shipping charges if we make the delivery once I am in Europe.
