I have for sale a fine example of 1980's technology! For sale is an Astroworks equatorial fork mount originally for a 16" F/4 Newtonian. I purchased this mount from the University of Iowa with OTA. The mount is cast aluminum with a 2.5” polar axis in Timken bearings and a 2” declination axis in roller bearings. Not shown is the OTA cage that is designed to hold a 18” to 19” diameter OTA. When I have used this mount, the PE I measured was 2 arc seconds for a total of 4 arc seconds peek to peek. Your results may vary! The RA drive is a fine 14” Mathis drive with a 2” worm. The DEC drive is a 9” Opticraft unit with a .5” worm.

***** NOTE ***** The mount DOES NOT include the servo drives shown or any electronics.

Two good sources of drive electronics are Mel Bartal’s products using his servo version of Scope II and Gary Myers Servo Cat. I have personally used both of these fine products with this mount.

Shipping: Due to the size and weight of this mount, local pickup would be preferred. The mount can be broken down into the base and fork and can be handled by one healthy person. I am willing to drive a fair distance if needed. Shipping is possible but will be expensive since I will need to build a crate for the mount and ship by truck.

I may be reached at 608-825-4413 ext 114 with questions.

Thanks for looking.
