Serial #8-CV-DP-3703-BB

I purchased this scope on 7/27/19 from the son of the original owner, who owned it for over 50 years. Originally delivered to Barrow, AK right before Christmas in 1968.

This model has the upgraded Cervit Mirror and broadband coatings which do not show any signs of degradation, tarnishing, or fungus. Unique model without star and moon map silk screened onto the scope and dew shield. Rigid leather case from the 1968-1970 era. Includes the optional leather protective cover made of sewn simulated leather vinyl clad fabric. Carrying case handle was replaced by a local saddle maker with real leather (R.C. Bean Saddlery - Star, ID). RA drive plug upgraded to a polarized plug with new AC cord from Questar.

Includes everything pictured; mount legs for equatorial tabletop use, power cord for RA drive, T-Adapter for rear port, Stock 40-80x erfle eyepiece, lots of paperwork, manuals, receipts, original leather case and protective cover, rubber tube cover for transport, front lens diaphragm for close focus, full aperture Thousand Oaks screw on solar filter.

Usage experience: Typical "wow" crispness and contrast expected from a Questar, excellent star tests, very sharp views of moon, planets and mercury solar transit. Knobs and focus are smooth, no sticking, crisp switching on barlow and finder. Finder is not perfectly centered but not far enough to bother adjusting, solar finder filter works great, no pinholes, solar full aperture filter brand new.

Condition: Great for age, very little use, some marks on the fork arms (pictured), very minor sleeks and blemishes, but nothing significant. Optics are excellent, very light dust. Eyepiece has a few nicks and marks, eyepiece glass not pristine, but nothing noticeable under any viewing condition. Some metal coating degradation or yellowing on the rear control panel, but minor. Case and cover have some stitching pulling out and some wear marks on both, see photos for more details. Front lens diaphragm has a split and was glued back together. Typical wear on the floor of the case interior. No service history with Questar.

I will pack the telescope in its case using the factory packing instructions: "HOW TO PACK INSTRUMENT FOR SHIPPING - Questar Corporation." This will be double boxed in new boxes, fully padded using new bubble wrap, and shipped insured for full sale price and requiring signature upon delivery.

Buyer pays shipping, I will cover PayPal fees.
