Several years ago a good friend offered this scope to me as an incentive to get me back into astronomy. Since then, I’ve upgraded equipment several times, a financial “adventure” my friend warned me about.
I’m interested in passing this scope to a new owner, ideally someone curious about astronomy who could put it to good use.
This scope is in good –> very good condition, particularly given its age. No dings or significant scratches in the OTA. The mirrors look clean, though I’m sure the scope needs collimation. I replaced the original plastic focuser with a Moonlight manual focuser. The OTA includes the stock finder Meade provided. The OTA does not include eyepieces.
The motorized mount tracks as expected, though it has noticeable backlash. The mount includes a hand controller. The tripod is sufficiently sturdy to support the OTA properly.
I have the original shipping boxes for the scope.
I’m offering this scope at no cost assuming you (a) pick it up from me in North Atlanta or (b) pay for shipping or (c) meet me at a mutually convenient location. I’m willing to drive 100 miles (each way) to meet the scope’s new owner.
