I am selling the following scope after acquiring it from a friend's estate upon his death.

$250 - MEADE ETX-125, includes travel case, basic ETX hand controller, finder scope INCLUDES FOAM LINED CASE and tripod  --  Azimuth works very well, the Altitude is a bit finicky if the OTA is not balanced well.  Read "finicky" as it sounds a bit like a coffee grinder when moving the OTA up.  I have opened up the fork and looked close at the worm gear and it looks OK, no bits of plastic or nylon that might come from a slipping gear.  I also cleaned the excess grease and put new grease on everything that should have grease.  I know that it performed much better once I BALANCED the OTA.  The case alone is in Excellent shape and valuable in its self, and the optics of the ETX are very good.  If you need them, I have a couple plossl eyepieces, 10mm and 25mm, I will include.  I will also include a weight set to keep the coffee grinding to a minimum.  The tripod is the Meade HD Field Tripod which has an adjustable plate so one can easily use it in equatorial mode.

I am selling because I just have too many scopes.

I would prefer selling local, however if the buyer will pay the cost to box it up and ship it, I will do the leg work ( I have a box for the scope & case, but I will have to fabricate a box for the tripod).  To estimate the shipping on the scope and travel case it measures 24"x16"x11" and weighs about 38 lbs.  The tripod would come in a box about 30"x9"x9"and weighs about 10 lbs.  Both would be originating from Zip Code 23320.

As is the case with most Astro-Mart purchases this one is sold as is.

Reasonable offers will be entertained.
