This reflector telescope uses mirrors. The Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system uses a combination of mirrors and lenses and is refered as a compound or catadioptic telescope. this unique design offers large-diameter optics while maintaing veryshort tube lengths, making them extremly portable.

Thew Schmidt-Cassegrain system concists od a zero powercorrector plate, a spherical primary mirror, and a secondary mirror. Once the light rays enter the optical system, they travel thr length of the optical tube three times.
