I purchased this outstanding fast apochromat (400 mm focal length at f/5) from First Light Optics (FLO) in Exeter, England in May 2022. It arrived a few days after placing the order in great shape via DHL and has served superbly as my introductory telescope for astrophotography. I have used it in conjunction with Sky-Watcher's Evoguide 50 ED for guiding on an HEQ5 SynScan equatorial mount, which I am selling separately. An example image from this system produced using a ZWO ASI533MC camera accompanies this ad. I'm far from being able to get the most out of my data yet, and so this image of M33 from 30 stacked five minute exposures is primarily to show the telescope's potential. You round star images all the way out to the four corners.

The telescope comes with all its original accessories, which include: 2.7" dual-speed linear focuser, 2" and 1.25" eyepiece adaptors, 2" dielectric star diagonal, 9x50 right-angled direct image finder scope, dovetail mounting shoe, and heavy-duty storage/transportation case. It also includes the S-W Esprit 80ED field flattener and a Canon camera adaptor.

In addition, I am including a Bahtinov focusing mask and scope rings that I designed and 3D printed for the telescope. The rings permit the very stable mounting of a guide scope in addition to the finder shoe on the focuser. The rings, which would cost about $200 if purchased commercially, provide for two positions for mounting and balancing the telescope and a guide telescope with and without the focuser-mounted finder telescope.

Using the current currency conversion factor for GBP to USD, FLO now sells the telescope plus flattener for about $1,430 plus $118 for shipping. US Customs fee ranges from 8% to 13% of the total cost plus shipping, depending upon which import category Customs decides for the shipment. This amounts to a total FLO cost of approximately $1,680 to $1,750. The cost from a US dealer before sales tax and with free shipping is presently $2,230. I am asking $1,350 (payable via PayPal) for this nearly new telescope. I'll meet the buyer within a 120-mile distance of Gainesville, FL. Otherwise buyer pays shipping costs, and I will absorb the PayPal fee.
