Dear Herb,

I understand that any person can delete off their ads. I was wondering if this feature is actually good to have. By allowing a seller to have the ability to delete off their ads, wouldn't it be a messy affair if there is ever a dispute on the items sold?

Let's say a seller is selling a package that consist of 10 items in it. After selling, the seller delete off his ad. Now when the buyer receive the package, he receive only 5 of the 10 items. He ask the seller but the seller says there is only 5. The buyer try to find back the ad as an "evidence", but there isn't any.

Wouldn't there be a potential for an issue like this if anyone is allowed to delete off their ads?

Thanks
Vin

You can of course print a copy of the ad when you respond
to it. I try to do this; I think it is a good idea.

I believe Herb has access to all the ads, included the
deleted ones. If things got real nasty you could contact
Herb and maybe get a copy.

In principle I think it is a good idea to delete the ads.
You probably would not want a list of all your high-dollar
scopes, eyepieces, etc. posted on the internet along with
your address. But between the ads and feedback system,
that is essentially what you have. Deleting the ads
erases most of this information from public view.
