Am I just paranoid?

I purchased a mount last month, but have not received it yet. The ad did not offer paypal, so I sent a check. The seller was communicating well, and mentioned that the check had not arrived. I called him after a couple of times, and he did get the check 8 days later. It was cleared on the 15th, but marked " pay to the order of..."
In the seller's defense, he said it would take a while to ship. He mentioned shipping it on Thursday.
I have only had 1 response since he received the check, and that was at the end of the month. He said he was stuck out of town.
I don't want to fly off of the handle and send a negative feedback yet, but then again I do not want to get walked over on this.
If this does not pan out, is there any way I could get my money back?

How much feedback does he have? How long has he been a member? Does his profile city match the address you sent the check? You can check this out on "User Profile". That will at least help your mind. It is possible that a Postal Inspector could assist you if it is fraud and you sent the check through the mail. If you have any questions when buying, it pays to get a USPS Money Order because when it is cashed they get all kind of information from that person. Your check should have a DV or Account number on it when they cash it. That might help.

I think I know which member you're refering to. I'm waiting on a $750 SCT to be shipped. I had the same "check took a long time, out of town, etc." from him and it's now 3 weeks since the date he said he'd originally ship and NOTHING! He remains in contact every couple days after I badger him and he promises to "look into it" and get back to me by today or tomorrow and I never hear ANYTHING. This cycle has happened about 7 times now. I'm getting a complete run around and sent Herb an email yesterday in regards to this. Did you notice his AM profile is now GONE?

My $100 Paypal deposit has been returned to me and have been promised that if the package has not been shipped yet (when he checks this weekend) will refund me in whole. I shall wait and see. I hope this will be cleared up shortly.

I finally talked to Marshall Hagy on the phone last week. He said he had nothing to do with it.
