Marking a item sold

I sold a item and when I went to edit my ad to say it had been sold I clicked the tab that says "Mark as Sold" instead of manually editing the ad as was my custom.
My entire ad disappeared. Is this the way its supposed to work ?

It didn't really disappear. Go back to the ads page and click the "Include Sold/Found Items Y N". Click Y for yes. Its a great feature that makes it easier to browse through unsold items, but still allows you to see sold items.
