Newbie to AstroMart

Just joined the site and was looking for advice to avoid any issues buying.

First thing that makes me wonder is the fact that even though, some seller have, say 50+ feed back, I wonder why they ask for payment with a money order or wired, etc. when I prefer something like PayPal so that there is some form of protection when buying?  Not saying they will stick it to me, but still, what protection do I have with sending them payment with a money order and such? Do most of you avoid those that ask for such type of payment?

Just looking to be a better consumer on this site.

I have never had an issue with paypal myself but many have and refuse to use it. Your job when it comes to buying here is follow through until you are comfortable with the transaction. If they have a generous amount of positive feedback that is your 1st indication. However if they dont accept paypal then if need be ask for their phone number and a good time to call. They probably have a legit reason for not accepting paypal. Up to you to do whatever it takes to get comfortable. Sadly there are no guarantees but a good trading history on here usually means you are safe.

These are good points.  Paypal isn't the issue, more of the fact that I notice that most won't accept it. I do like the idea of getting a telephone number and talking to them.
