Price no longer displayed on advance classified emails

Astromart just recently appears to no longer include the price of an item in the notification email sent to members. Why is that? Obviously, I have to be a member to get the emails, so there is no reason to exclude that information. I like to save classifieds for items that I own, so that if I sell something in the future, I can peruse the saved emails to determine a fair price to ask. Looking up the classified on Astromart often does not work because more than a few posters delete their classifieds after they sell.

There is nothing in the profile that I can see that has anything to do with the display of the price in the EMAIL NOTIFICATION (I am not talking about the display on your website), and this was an internal change that cause the price to be dropped as I had not touched my profile in over a year. In any event, I did change the classified LIST ON THE WEBSITE to include the price, just to see if that made a difference, but it didn't - the emails still don't include the price anywhere (and they always used to, and have done so for MANY YEARS).

I can also tell you almost PRECISELY when this change occurred on your system: All classified emails prior to 10/27/2018, 6:40pm included the price. All emails on or after 10/29/2018, 8:45pm no longer included the price. So somewhere in that 48 hour period, your system was changed to drop the price...

If anyone else reading this thread IS SEEING the price on the advance email notifications, do let me know, but I would be quite surprised if that was the case.

Just to add my voice to this - I too suddenly had prices disappear from the digest emails.  No changes on my part with regard to settings etc.  I too find pricing information useful in the emails and would like to see that feature restored.

Cheers,

Greg

I'm still wondering if Astromart will comment on this as their first reply implied it was just a user setting and this is VERY DEFINITELY something that Astromart itself changed (my prior email pinned the precise date of their change to within 2 days).

If intentional, can they let us know the reason for it (doesn't seem to make much sense as emails ONLY go to registered users and the price is sometimes quoted in the body text anyway), and if not intentional, is this something they are willing to fix?

Ok, thanks for the reply! I do find it very useful to include the price and it will also DECREASE the hits on your server, because right now, to see the price (was that REALLY an AP Traveler going for $500<g>wink, I HAVE to log into to your website and look up the ad. Second, as I indicated, more than a few users put the price in the text of the ad too so the presence of a price per se is going to be an issue anyway. I would think that either you would have to purge ALL text items that look like a price from the body of the ad, or restore the prior line (PRICE: $xxx) just after the location information.

You could always avoid having something looking like a price (which I suppose MIGHT trigger some Spam filters) by just putting the price in parentheses after the Location, so something like:

LOCATION: Westminster MD, United States (245)

which certainly would not trigger any spam filter....

It is helpful to have enough information in the email notification to know whether or not it's worth logging into the website and looking up the ad.
