Why am I noted as "NOT CONFIRMED"? My Classified never posted: Looking for a TeleVue 85.

Hi, I'm sure this is somehow Operator Error related. How do I fix it, please?
My Classified WTB never posted, and I am noted as "NOT CONFIRMED". Why is that?

In the interim, I found a Tele Vue 85 so I'm good and marked the listing (that never posted) as Sold.
Thanks much,
Jeff Gardiner/Imagineer

My fresh classified is "NOT CONFIRMED" as a retired software engineer, I can only suspect that somehow my pictures were not compressed enough, and that created an error message that is opaque. Is there a size limit for posted pictures? Thanks in advance..

Because neither of you ever completed the final step of placing your ads. Open up your ad and click on the button that says "Place your ad" or something similar. Without doing that final step you are the only one that can view your ad.

I have looked carefully all over the screen, clicked on most of the options, and nothing happens. This makes me think that 'Not Confirmed" is a general error message. So maybe my files were too big, or there were too many posted. Some limit was exceeded and this "Not confirmed" is the resulting error message.

Once approach I could use is to assume the files are too big, and put in tiny files, say 10 k, post it, and see if the "Not confirmed" error comes up. Then I could delete the classified and try larger and larger files until I reverse engineer how it works. But it would be easier if someone could tell me the limits of single pictures and the limits of groups of picture.

Maybe "Not Confirmed" means that someone must approve of the post before it can show up on the astromart website?

No, there is no confirmation process beyond your own confirmation to post the ad.....I used to be able to view unconfirmed ads but they closed that door a while back, I can see you posted an ad and that it is in unconfirmed status but I cant actually open the ad anymore.

99% of the time the issue is you have not actually confirmed the ad yourself though. I suppose it is possible there is an image size issue but I dont recall the limits if there is one although I am pretty sure there is one. I would suggest you reduce the image sizes of your pics to around 100k each and try again. 100k is plenty of resolution and I know for a fact you wont hit any size limits with that.....unless of course you a trying to put up a bazillion images on the ad lol.

I know pretty much all the ads I have put up over the years I have sized the images to all be under 200k and usually half that.....never hit any walls on the issue. I will put up a test ad and show you what I am referring to.....hang tight.

See circled in red button...... Pull up your ad and see if that green button is there....if it is you need to click on it. A confirmed ad will have a respond to seller button instead.

In my Classified Ad my original 7 photos amounted to 32.45 megabytes. I knew instinctively that might be too big, so I used Gimp to squeeze it down to 7.6 megabytes, which was a 76% reduction. After reading your target of 100k I further reduced my pictures, but at about 0.5 megabytes, they were looking really bad. As I was about to bite the bullet with the now 0.6 megabyte pictures, someone somewhere allowed my stuck classified to be seen on the web. Happy I am, and I thought others who are learning might gain from reading this post. I don't know what the limits are, but they allowed one photo that was 1.4 megabytes. All is good, and this process is less opaque now.

It depends on how you are reducing the image size as to how the end result turns out. As a for instance this image is 156k and is quite sufficient for a for sale ad.....But glad you got it resolved.
