Okay, so are you better off using a ST 80 of good quality for low power wide field visual observing than you would be using binoculars like say some of the Oberwerk 20x80mm or 25x100 mm binoculars?
Do the Oberwerks have too fuzzy a view along the edges compared to a good ST80? Do they have a narrow field of view? You would seem to gain from using both eyes with the Oberwerks both in light gathered and ease of use.
The ST80 I have is a Williams Optics semi-apo btw.
