Monopod and binoculars.

Hello,
Today I read an article about "image stability with binoculars" was in a very old book, and mentioned the use of monopod to mount binoculars.
It seems that the image was completely stabilized, and even had people using a piece of wood between the monopod and binocular as a basis for this to give comfort to all.
Has anyone ever used a monopod this way or similarly, for astronomical observations?
With good results?
Sincerely
Paul

It should help immensely because it quells the "shakes" and off-loads the weight. Anyone wanting to simulate the affect, attach to a "regular" tripod with just one of the legs extended and try it. If you like it, either get or make a monopod...or saw two of the legs off... Tom Dey

I like using my uni-pod with my 15x60 binox. I even use them when i'm seated in a chair.
