My guess is the typical self centering eyepiece holder has eight slits around that are placed evenly around. These binoviewers have just four slits for each eye piece holder.
further more they are not evenly placed around the circle. they are offset 60,60,120,60,60,120 degrees in the circle.
Unless the photo is hiding the slits in the sides ( even then it makes them six) . I enlarged the photo, but could not see them.
is it the four/six slits in the design versus 8 slits?
