I've acquired a couple of reflectors from the estate of a Dallas businessman. One was a 7.5"X30" tube with a 6" mirror and the other was a 9.5"X50" tube with an 8" mirror. Both tubes were damaged and were unusable but everything else looks to be in very good condition. They appeared to have been custom-made for him as they had no names on anything except one of the rack and pinion focusers was a Meade but both focusers are identical. The only other names on either scope were that of him and his business. The larger one had a 72mm right-angle finder scope and the smaller one had a 50mm right-angle finder. Both finders have helical focusers, removable diagonals, and take .965 eyepieces. The tube rings are hinged aluminum and in great condition as are the finder rings. The tubes on both finders have indentions that look like they were caused by having the adjustment screws over-tightened. The primary mirrors look to be in great condition. I believe the large one is an F/6.3 and the small one is an F/5. The secondary mirrors look good as well. The spider for the small scope is complete but the spider for the large one is missing the tube attachment ends and nuts. The R/P focusers function smoothly. I'm hoping to find someone doing a restoration or custom build and sell each assembly as a package. I'm asking for advice on a fair price for each package. I attempted to attach several pics but it looks like only one uploaded. I can email pics if it would be beneficial for anyone. Thanks in advance.
