I have an old (1973, deforked) orange C8 which I use with celestron f/6.3 focal reducer, WO 1.25" diagonal and a CG-5GT mount. For visual observing, only.
A TV pan 24 is tempting for wide field views.
Could this be a good buy for this C8 + f/6.3 F/R or is it a waste of money?
Thanks for advices,
/Magnus

It would be a good choice. Celestron sells a 25mm ELUX plossl variant as standard for "widefield" views with with its Nexstar Se 8" operating at F10. The F6.3 focal reducer works well and the views with a nebular filter on the Lagoon and similar objects should be pleasing.

Great eyepiece. Go for it!
That's about as good as it gets in the 1 1/4" format.

I used one for a few years, it is a very good EP, quite small and lightweight, which can be a good thing. Today, the prices are getting pretty good for used EP of this caliber, due to all the new 100 degree FOV EPs that are being sold. This has driven down the price on smaller FOV EPs and you can take advantage of that. grin
