Zoom eyepieces that advertise for 2" AND 11/4"barrels combined, - Do they perform better in 2" mode or is it just mechanical adaption? I guess what I'm asking is if I bought one of these, would I get bigger fields and brighter than the LV8-24mm 11/4" zoom I couple with my C8 now, for jumping around at globs and and star fields?? Thanks Thomas M.

LOL, - Is it still true that there is no such thing as a "stupid question"? Some pictures I've seen of these zooms, show a 11/4" barrel inside, with a 2" barrel around the inside barrel, - but the interior lens is enclosed completely within the 11/4" barrel, so intuitively it seems the 2" is only a adapter to let it be used on a 2" tube, but optically it is still stepped down to 11/4" aperture. Do they make one the other way around, - a full 2" zoom that you can then step down to 11/4" if desired?? :S Thomas M.
