Alternative to actual observatory

I am looking for an alternative to an actual observatory. I have a private pad at my astronomy club's dark sky site, and a permanent pier where I'm about to attach a GEM. I'm thinking of something along the lines of a box to enclose and protect the mount (on the top of the pier) once it's installed, aligned, etc.), and I think I saw something in S&T once up a time.

Does anyone have any ideas along this line? I'm definitely open to suggestions. Thanks!

I've been looking at the same concept. Google on outhouse observatory - the first hit kept me busy for hours....
I still haven't started, but have settled on the concept of a lockable outhouse with storage drawers for accessories in 'extra' space inside, trying to keep everything needed in one place.
