How to convert 12 volt wiper motor to ascom?

I am non electrical minded. I have an older "Boyd Observatory" that has a windshield wiper motor with a geared shaft to the toothed rail around the dome, to a dual relay box with a lot of connections in it. (I do not understand it all..but get the general idea) Out of that there is a 1/8" stereo jack to hand controller with two buttons for each direction of the motor...reversing polarity.
 I would love to figure out an EASY way to get this to a usb connection into my laptop to operate it using team view or like programs. Can anyone on here point me in the right direction? I have had people say to use raspberry pi....but I have NO idea what to do with that! It would be nice if someone could draw me up an easy diagram to follow... with a photo of mine to go off of, of course.
