A home observatory is a great thing. A touch of heat (radiant heater) for the control room or a dehumdifier in the summer months is what I have used with no corrosion (dampness)problems to date.

Mine is a "roll over"roof design. This keeps the footprint down. The entire structure can be built off site if needed and delivered as a pre-built structure. Have a look:
