Celestron Advanced AVX Motor board

Wanted to reach out and get some insight regarded my AVX mount that died on me last night while doing a firmware update via the CFM. Had the mount plugged into a wall outlet and the red indicator light is out when turned on. The Nexstar+ hand controller is stuck on the "initializing" step during startup. Won't accept a re-flash or change back to default settings. Already went through the steps with Celestron's technical support including spreading the pin. The hand controller will light up and appears to be ok but the mount is dead. So my question is, worth spending $200 on a replacement motor board? From what I've read the electronics in these mounts appear to be flawed. Any other way to make this into a workable mount? Would like to get it to slew and track. Less concerned with the GoTo. Any insight and comments are appreciated.
