Portaball Mirror Silicone Adhesive Question

I've just bought a used 12.5" Portaball in overall great shape. The primary mirror, however, is needing a re-coat. I've owned a number of reflectors over the years but all have had more conventional primary cells that used mechanical means, rather than the silicone adhesive the Portaball uses, to retain the optic.

Does anyone have experience here who can offer suggestions on how to safely separate the primary and clean off the remaining adhesive? Thanks in advance ...

Randy.

I have used dental floss to saw through the silicone and it works fine. Have a good one.....Tom.

Novel idea! Will try that first!
