I was getting super excited until this quote:

"Although the mirror has been ground and polished, it still needs its reflective coating. Clements, with Dodds' help, plans to do this with a special metallic liquid and an automotive spray gun."

That's a little like painting a brand new tesla with a roller...except this paint job will screw up everything.

Except for the focuser there is nothing commercially made that will work for that thing. He will have to build everything, and even if it's an F3.5 it will have a 250 inch focal length--20 feet! Good thing he's a trucker--he'll have something that can tow it to the observing site.
