Hi All,

I usually save my projects for the fall and winter but once I got my hands on a set of optics, my ATM itch became too much to bear and it had to be scratched smile Adding an import 3 axis CNC router to the mix and this retired research machinist couldn’t hold himself back.

Yeah, I really enjoyed watching you go and lightspeed on this build on CN.

That looks nice and I especially like that one picture pretty much shows Everything regarding how you designed and built it. This is 1st time I've seen this project; couple questions: It's a classical Cass? Does a spider or stalk hold the flat folding mirror? What's the F# and lowest mag you can use? Do the PM and SM need baffles? How is the performance? Nice job! Thanks for sharing. PS I’m on a writers’ site as well and believe many/most hobby sites seem to have had their glory days like ten years ago. Maybe Twitter, Facebook, etc. have inexorably changed the favorite ways that people communicate?! … sigh … Tom Dey

OHhhh... I just had a Gestalt here... That is LITERALLY optics stripped from a C-14? Tom

Update:

Since I don't have an observatory I figured I would set up an observing "area." This old guy is getting lazier by the year. The scope now stays outside. Wish me luck, rain is coming shocked

Cooling system installed. Testing tonight. Just had a front pass through yesterday. Hopefully I can get in some views in before the dew wipes me out.

All done! New decals applied. Home made short dew shield/dust shield installed. It has been fun. Now this thread can go into the sunset (to the relief of some I'm sure wink ).
