Tube rings for a 4" Dynascope

I would like to construct tube rings for a 4" Dynascope that I can then attach to a dovetail mount for my goto. The actual diameter of the tube is slightly less than 4." I know that I can buy something that might fit this, but I was wondering if something simpler (and more economical) could be substituted.

Thanks for any information you can offer.

Sure, your imagination is the limit. Like a DIY wood cradle (half rings) with an over-the-tube restraining strap for instance. A wingnut & eye-bolt on one end of the strap adjusts tension.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't find some cheap rings
meant for some 90mm to 100mm Chinese scope here on AM.
That and some felt of proper thickness (hardware store)
would probably do the job with least effort.
