Eyepieces for PST?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if you need the CEMAX eyepeices, or can I use ones from my telescope for a Coronado PST? Is there really a difference?

I have used my regular eyepieces with my PST. The Cemax eyepieces apparently are designed for the PST but, I don't think that they are necessary. Just use what you have and if you don't like the results, you can switch. I have a Celestron 8-24 mm zoom eyepiece that I use, but it shows a lot of vignetting at the lowest power.

The short answer is no you don't need CEMAX eyepieces. Your telescopes eyepieces should work ok.

Many of us PST users often use a zoom EP so we only need to bring one along with us outside, but most EPs will come to focus with the PST. I haven't seen many reviews of the CEMAX set. They look like typical Plossls to me.
