I have a 30 year old Edmund reflector I want to refinish I will need to have the mirror restored, can anyone recommend places that do that work, I live on the east coast of us so looking for close places rather then CA area...

Do you mean "reflector" with the primary mirror at the bottom of the tube? If so, EMF "Evaporated Metal Films" in Ithaca, NY is great and may be closer. They do very large mirrors, commonly hand-delivered by the owners. I took 29 and 36-inch mirrors there. Your Edmund mirror is 6 or 8 inches? If so, I would recommend OWL "Optic Wave Labs" good price, great quality, and will even test your mirror for wavefront. Shipping mirrors in that size is easy. Cary has an on-line video showing how to pack for shipping. There are other good coating places that others may recommend. You should get the small mirror at the top recoated along with the big mirror. Tom Dey
