Cleaning Optics

I have never cleaned any of my optics, but I have many eyepieces, a 4 inch objective, and an 8 inch SCT corrector that have dew spots.  The eyepieces also have a lot of eyelash oil. Also, an unknown fingerprint on the SCT corrector.  My question:  Can optics be safely cleaned using the pre-moistened lens wipes used to clean eyeglasses?  I use the Zeiss brand on my eyeglasses with no scratches or residue.

Thank you Rod for the Televue link.  Lots of concise information and instructions.  I will start with my low cost eyepieces first to get some practice, then progress to the good stuff.  Again, thank you Rod and Televue for the help.
