Just got a Meade LX200-10". After being defective out of the box and waiting for the slow Meade response I finally have a telescope that can be used! I am wondering before I invest in an eyepiece collection of 1.25 sizes, should I but a 2" diagonal and get larger eyepiece colection?

Thanks for any suggestions

Hi Michael.
Buy the 2" Diagonal of good pedigree and a few better quality EPs, with the longer ones being 2". You can get by with 3-4 great EPs and see everything you would like to with good solid performance.

Check out the William Optics 2" diagonal w/1 1/4 adapter. Great performance at an excellent price. Availability may be an issue, it has been in the past, but I'm not sure about now. An SCT version is available for your LX200, but if you will be using a Crayford or motorized focuser, the standard version will be necessary. I have yet to read of a complaint about the WO's.
