I wanted to follow up on the thread that Alex started a month ago after his visit to Nairobi.
I just wanted to report that school is back in session and Bernard Muiruri, a teacher here at the school and the group leader of The Rangers (our version of Boy Scouts), was enthusiastic about the gift Alex left for us -- a 6" inch parabolic mirror and assorted useful goodies.
We've already started constructing the Dobsonian and we'll let you know how it works out.
It's moving slowly, since we're busy with school stuff at the beginning of the new year. So first light is many weeks out there in the future.
Clears,
Joe
