I hope that you can help a very frustrated beginner.
I recently purchased a telescope (a Celestron Powerseeker 127EQ) and I started with observing the moon. I made pictures by holding my phone camera in front of the lens. This was very frustrating, so I bought a Celestron NexImage 5 MP camera. Unfortunately, it is impossible to focus the camera. All I see is a light and some blurry patterns. Even my phone pictures look better! What could I have possibly done wrong?
I don't go outside when I observe the moon, so there is a window between my telescope and the moon, but it doesn't seem to affect the quality of my view without the camera. But with the $200 camera it looks awful. I attached a photo so you can see how bad it looks.
