I'm new to this field and have just acquired a TMB 152 Triplet and am wondering if it would be advisable to let the glass cool to the ambient temperature?

Absolutely! Your system will always perform best if it is at ambient temperature. Professional observatories are typically cooled to evening outside temperatures during the day.
