Does anybody know generally what is the minimum aperture needed to catch the globular cluster NGC 288 in Sculptor?

I didn't look for 288 when I just had a 6", but like a lot of medium brightness globular clusters, based on my experience 6" aperature and dark skies would be plenty to detect and recognize it as a deep sky object. Guessing you could go down to 3" to 4" and still detect it without much trouble.

In a 16" in dark skies it is a nice object with lots of resolution. Several good galaxies in the area too, especially 253.

Just looked at my log. I observed it with a 4.5" in 2004. My log says moderate size fuzzy ball with no resolved stars.
