Join the Harford County Astronomical Society (HCAS) for a Transit of Venus viewing session in Maryland!

Transit of Venus
June 5, 2012 6pm (US eastern) to Sunset (8:30pm)
A transit of Venus is viewed using a solar filter to look at the sun. During the transit, Venus will appear as a black dot moving along the surface of the sun. The entire transit takes about 6 hours. Venus transits happen in pairs 8 years apart. The pairs are separated by approximately 100 year. The next Venus transit will be in 2117. If you want to see a Venus transit, this is your LAST OPPORTUNITY IN YOUR LIFETIME.
