In the past when you selected an Classified Item to purchase you would get a (PayPal or other) link for the buyer to complete the transaction. Is this no longer in place? Do the two individuals have to arrange the transactions outside of Astromart themselves?

Yes...... When you click on "respond to ad" an email or a PM is sent to the advertiser depending on the advertisers preferences. From that point the transaction is private between the two of you. You and the other party do have the ability to rate the transaction and comment on it when complete which becomes part of the public record on your respective AM accounts.
I have been here a long time and never seen anything like you mention.....you sure you are not thinking of ebay?
