While sipping overpriced coffee in a certain trendy bookstore I came across "The Fallen Sky" recently published (July 2009) and written by Christopher Cokinos. This is an engaging and mesmerizing detailed account of many of man's interrelations with "Fallen Sky". I found his treatment of the wastrel Barringer who in light of scientific evidence continued to squander a fortune in attempts to mine the meteorite most insightful. His greed ridden motivations flying in the face of fact and choosing how he wanted things to be rather than how they were. Not a very good investment rationale and much like today's second ever growing bubble in the stock market. Plain old raw and uncut greed does not supplant careful analysis of market conditions. Anyhow I think that this book will become a classic and a good reference resource for afficionados of the meteoric community. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/The-Fallen-Sky/Christopher-Cokinos/e/9781585427208/?itm=4&usri=1
