Hi all,

One of the giants of USA space science, James van Allen, has died at aged 91.

Most widely known for his discovery of the radiation belts surrounding the Earth that bare his name, van Allen was a widely respected scientist and educator. His passing is a great loss for the science community.

* Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a day.
* Teach a man to use the internet and he won't bother you for weeks.

A sad day it is... sad
What a wonderful person, and what incredible contributions he left for all of us...

I'm sure he is in a much better place now...
