NASA's Goal?

Back in the '60s, the goal of NASA was to successfully put a man on the moon & bring him back safely. What is NASA's goal now?

I find the planetary exploration missions quite interesting, as well as Hubble, Chandra, etc., but as interesting as manned flight is for the participants, my only interest is in their safety going into orbit & returning.

Just my thoughts. grin

I think NASA is supposed to be putting people on the moon and Mars. But, I think the free enterprise space endeavors are a little more interesting. They are more likely to take regular people like us out into space. 8)

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.
