Preparing to leave the nest for it's maiden flight. The nest box is my own design. Built specifically to defeat Cowbirds. Similar slots on both ends to provide ventilation. Four hatchlings all left the nest within an hours time.

Here is the first Carolina Wren to leave the nest. There were four hatchlings in all.

Nice photos Ron. Last year I had three fledge out from a box in the garage. For about a week I would hear the babies chirp and thought I had crickets in the garage. The nest was well hidden and the adult pair had it timed well to wait till I left for work to start feeding.

Nice Work

Nice shots. That box looks like something my Carolina Wrens could use. Any plans or drawings?
