I photographed this guy in Everglades National Park in January. These birds are amazing fishermen. They will get bits of leaves or other small debris, and sprinkle them on the water as bait for small fish. When the fish show up--ZAP! They look like they have no neck, but they actually have quite a reach.

Interesting looking little guy, sometimes creatures are much smarter than we give them credit for.

Nice Shot John. I love these little guys. I know what you mean about the neck thing. They are interesting to watch, though I did not know that about their fishing skills,
