Juvenile Red-Shouldered Hawk

Seems to be looking at me thinking....why are you pointing that thing at me? These guys seem to be noisy birds too lots of squawking!

Hi Roger, Thanks for posting this very nice image. We have a mating pair of Red- shouldered hawks that have been in the area for quite some time. I noticed a hawk the other week that looked a lot like your picture and thought it was a young Red-shouldered hawk.

wow ! very close did you use a long telephoto or was the image cropped. I have a mating pair near me. There offspring from the previous year still hangs around them. here is the juvenile image. I shot this with a Sony A100 and a sigma 600 mm cat lens
