Northern Flicker

Took this one yesterday (10-1-08)
These guys seem to move through the neighborhood
in early spring and early fall.

Thanks for posting. If I had to pick 5 favorite birds, the flicker would make the cut. BTW, I have only seen flickers on the ground!
