Stumbled upon this guy this past weekend at the local state park.
Good thing he was so intent on hunting or I would of never got so close. (within about 40ft)

This one is shortly after the last one. Something caught his eye and he took off to investigate.
He acted as if I was never there the whole time, didn't even look down my way. I was pretty happy that after stumbling across him the way I did that it never spooked him off. It was the start of a great birding day. smile

Nice shots. I came across a Red-Tailed Hawk on the ground eating a squirrel, not too far off the road. After parking the car, he was very skittish at my aproach and flew off, taking his lunch with him. I got a few shots, but the distance and focus didn't make for the best shot. I believe his being on the ground, caused him more concern about me than yours being up on a tree branch.

What was your camera/lens, if you don't mind my asking?
